The newest twist in chef apparel, are chef coats that incorporate a moisture wicking mesh material. The mesh creates a cool, light weight garment with the addition of strech and flexability, while maintains a professional appearance. The mesh pannels are usually added to the back or under the arms and sides of the chef coat. They are available in both short and long sleeve, Black or White from sizes XS through 6XL.
The tradional chef knife is a staple in every chefs arsenal, but over the years many chefs have strayed from the traditonal. The most popular being the Santoku and alternativly the Usuba. The Santoku can best be desribed as a Japanese chef knife. The Usuba on the other hand is a Japanese vegetable cleaver. Their shapes maybe drasically different, but they are used for very similar tasks. The thickness of the blade is thinner then the classical chef knife and therefore more fragile but at time more percise.
Each chefs pereferce is different weather it be blade length, thickness or shape.
